Sean Stiegemeier – Iceland, Eyjafjallajökull

Want to see something beautiful?

Iceland, Eyjafjallajökull - May 1st and 2nd, 2010 from Sean Stiegemeier on Vimeo.

I particularly enjoy the scene around 1:20, and also the very last bit. Absolutely amazing.

You should most definitely check out some more of his videos!

Also, listening to Bonobo currently. I highly recommend them if you're into chilled out, ambient, electro sounds and singing.

u + b architecture & design

So, I never really thought I was a big architecture girl. A house was a house, whatever. I was more into the interior design I suppose.Anyway, apparently I'm really A.D.D with basically anything and everything, and once again, my tastes have changed, and I'm now 'fully sick' into architecture and shit. u+b are rating pretty high right now, as is American architecture. I do love alot of Australian architecture, but it's very different. Australia is still very new - even our old houses...they were built with a purpose to roof a head. Workers cottages etc. If not, they're usually a replicated and altered version of some other style of international architecture. And I still think there's alot of beautiful houses out there but ultimately...I think American architecture has stolen my heart for now.Anyway, enough of that, you can make your own mind up. Check out u + b architecture & design, now. Or soon. Whenever.

One day, I may actually stop being lazy, and properly link images, and maybe even Photoshop them to correct size. One day. Don't hold your breathe.

oh dear.

i have gone etsy crazy.

This is just temporary, right? Is it because I'm new to Etsy? Please someone tell me that my bank account isn't going to suddenly become very, very empty!

Obviously, can't afford any of these right now, but here's a few favourites -

Sorry fr all the big images - I honestly am just too lazy to go Photoshop and resize - I'm so sorry!

goodbye.

I'm kidding, we're not shutting down THAT easily! figured it was a nice contrast to the previous posts title below hehe.
So, I'm back and ready for some art!
Brodie's lazy.

Speaking of Finders Keepers, the 2010 Finder's Keepers Art Comp winner was announced today.
I'll be frank, I'm not usually a big fan of , dare I say cartoony and 'poster paint' type art but I couldn't help myself from really liking Lauren Carney' playful work and can't wait for the 2010 Finders Keepers markets now.

Lauren hales from sunny Brisbane, Australia.

Finders have said they will be printing this on Tees, I hope they print some canvas totes too!

hello.

I would probably update this alot more if it were a tumblr. I'm so sorry. It is honestly sheer lazyness. See, I can't even be bothered to upload a pretty photo for you. Life blows. And Louise is on holidays. Damn herrr.

P.S It is so hard to find tree branches and drift wood etc. in Australia. WHY? Like, useable ones. For hanging jewellery etc.

finders keepers.

A few months ago, Louise and I went to the Finders Keepers markets here in Sydney. The markets are a place for young and upcoming designers to show off their talents, and boy was their talents. Anyway, I picked a few cards up on my way with intentions to blog about them. And then I forgot. And now I'm remembering.

Pigeon Hole stood out, for me. I am in love with their rings, to be honest.

The thing is, I don't know which one I want more. Damn.

x Brodie

there is no polite way to say this.

I want it.

noah kalina

Whilst I'm going through all my old bookmarks, I absolutely have to show you one of my favourite photographers, Noah Kalina. God, I love his photos, it's unfair.

I just love the way he lights and sets his photos. It's eerie. Reminds me of Gregory Crewdson.

joyce kim.

I can't remember how I found Joyce Kim. All I know is she's been sitting in my bookmarks for a long time, and I figured it was about time I gave that bookmark the time of day. So here you go. There's something about her photos that I can't seem to put my finger on. Maybe it's the fact she can take a photo of such an everyday object, and turn it into something completely different? I don't know. Anyway, Ive never been good at this description crap. Go look at her photos, in particular the film stills. Love them.

daydreams at night.

I'm a little bit of a sucker for night time photography. I think it's fantastic. These photos by Hannah Davis kind of blow me away, I feel as though I'm looking at a whole other world, to be honest. Wish I had some more poetic words for you, but I don't. Just go check her flickr out, ok?

Jeff who?

Jeff Hamada.

Probably not a name you have heard, until now.

But we all have him to thank because two years ago he established booooooom.com, a highly popular website showcasing the talents of unknown artists world wide, and one which I make sure to visit daily.
Little did I know though that the man behind it was in fact, an artist himself! And a damn good one! You kids should pop on over to his website, asap. jeffhamada.com

I am pretty sure this is the most amazing idea ever. Treehouse accommodation, why didn't someone think of it sooner? This is rad! I would stay there anyday.

the society

Stuff like this excites me. Nothing beats a washed up piece of wood or some brown paper!
So when I saw this shop review on for me, for you, I kind of nearly maybe made a little embarrassing noise. The Society is an Aussie shop, which is all sorts of happiness and sunshine, as it is also located right near my uni! Every quarter, the shop changes it's theme to different 'societies', which basically means it's colour coordinated and I dont know why, but that makes everything so much more exciting. I can't wait to go and check out their lovely homewares etc.

hmm.
